Volunteer Opportunities

Board Members: We are looking to expand our board of directors. If you have passion and skills that could contribute to our mission, please contact us.

Affiliations: If you are affiliated with any special organizations that could benefit our families, contact us for volunteer opportunities.

Fundraising: Help Childbirth Connection Foundation provide services to families in need by providing expertise in the area of fundraising.

Mentor: Volunteer once a month to be a positive role model, spending one-on-one time with an at-risk child who would benefit from positive attention and exposure to unique experiences. Activities such as going to the park, participating in our therapeutic horseback riding program, going on child-orientated outings in the community, introducing a child to cultural events, or simply hanging out with someone who cares can make a tremendous difference in a young person’s life.

Transportation Volunteers: Helps us transport families when special situations arise. Adopt a family for the holidays or throughout the year. Help a family in need enjoy the holidays by providing a holiday meal and/or presents. Assist families faced with economic hardships throughout the year.

Adopt a family for the holidays or for all throughout the year. This could involve bringing a holiday meal to a family and could include presents. Some of the families we work with could really use extra help with donated items such as diapers, toilet paper, shampoo, soap and other items that are everyday to us.

Volunteer Spotlight

volunteer-dodieDodie Patton, 95 years old has been an inspiration to us all. She has been Santa’s helper for many years, by wrapping presents for all the children who attend our annual holiday party. She also helps with serving the food and was a volunteer for us even before we became a foundation and has been a contributor from the beginning. She always has a smile on her face and is always ready to help. Dodie states, “I find it a pleasure to wrap the gifts for the children”. Thank you Dodie for all the years of help, we’re glad you are part of our Childbirth Connection Foundation family.

Thanks to Our Past Volunteers:

Richard Silverman served as Santa for 8 years at our annual Holiday party where we give out presents to all of the clients and their children. He also volunteered as a mentor. Here is what Richard shared with us during his time at Childbirth Connection.

“I am a 46 year old divorced father of one 17 year old son. The time I spend helping out Childbirth Connection is very rewarding to me. We all have our own things in life going on but is so great to see the joy and laughter in the faces of the people that are being helped by spending some time with them. The reward of doing the volunteer work is so much more to me because of all the hectic and sometime not so wonderful things that go on in the world today. I look forward to the times that I get to spend with the people that I am working with. It is a good feeling to know that you are helping someone to better their life and in the same way making you feel good too.”
