It is such a pleasure to write about our partnership with the Sociology Department at California State University Northridge. We began this relationship in 2007 and we have been utilizing students in our internship program as mentors and tutors to children who are in need of a positive role model in their lives.

Take a look at just a few of these special people under “Mentor Spotlight” on our website.

Westland_School_1Once again we want to thank Westland School  for participating in our Adopt a Family Thanksgiving Partnership.

2014 marked our 22nd year of Westland School partnering with our organization to provide families in need with a Thanksgiving dinner and much more. Over and over our family members express their gratitude for being remembered during a difficult time of the year. Although we all look forward to the holidays, it is often a time of extra stress and burden for families who are struggling to make ends meet and who are often disconnected from their own families.

During the holiday season it has become a priority over the years to let others who are less fortunate to know how much we care. Westland staff and parents take time out of their busy schedules at a very hectic time of the year to put together a feast for individual families along with other needed items and often gifts!

In 2014, Westland School fed over 100 people with all of their generous donations. Thank you! Your commitment to taking care of others is truly inspiring!
